Student Status Examiner II

| POSITION DESCRIPTION |
Job Duties: Examine and determine residency of all graduate degree-seeking candidates, and special non-degree graduate students. Responsible for the review of all non-routine and problematic graduate applications. Examples of non-routine include international students, undergraduate students taking graduate courses (senior special students), current students who change graduate programs and students who change their status from special non-degree to degree seeking. Develop and implement procedures for new graduate programs, programs such as "Learning Communities" and distance education. When admission policies and regulations are not immediately applicable, make decisions necessary to process the applications and contact appropriate graduate program directors. Initiate the Multiple Applications and Admissions Date (MAAD) monthly report for Madison. Assist with training and time reports of student employees and other admissions staff members. During fall semester, assist with undergraduate admissions.

Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: This position requires the ability to interpret policies and procedures; skills in using word processing and spread sheet software; provide entry of data; have good verbal and written communication skills for working with other departments and colleges/universities; ability to determine a variety of math computations, i.e. grade point average, etc.; have an attention to details; and possess multi-tasking and organizational skills.

| APPOINTMENT |
Full Time
(40 hrs/week) Pay range 02-11. Pay will be based on the rules that apply to compensation upon transfer, reinstatement or voluntary demotion; beginning pay will not be less than the minimum ($14.374). A six-month probationary period may be required.
