POSITION DESCRIPTION

Job Duties:  This position performs repairs and preventive maintenance on HVAC equipment, elevators, electrical, plumbing, heating, refrigeration, air conditioning, custodial equipment, kitchen equipment, and other mechanical systems and apparatus in the residence halls.  This position performs a majority of the work independent of supervision and must be able to make correct judgment calls in responding to various types of emergencies.

Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:  Knowledge of preventative maintenance; repairing and trouble shooting of temperature and ventilation problems in HVAC systems; plumbing repairs; and performing mechanical and electrical repairs.  Ability to work in confined areas, work from ladders and lift 50 pounds on a regular basis.

APPOINTMENT

Full Time  (40 hrs/week)
 

Pay range 03-13.  Pay will be based on the rules that apply to compensation upon transfer, reinstatement, or voluntary demotion; beginning pay will not be less than the minimum ($15.663).  A six-month permissive probationary period may be required.  This position is represented by the Blue Collar and Non-Building Trades.
