General Transfer Application Process

UW-La Crosse

ELIGIBILITY State Employees who do not currently work at UW-L may submit an application at any time for future vacancies.  After the list of contractual candidates is exhausted (where applicable), Human Resources queries the permissive candidate list for those individuals at or above the pay range of the vacancy who have expressed an interest in the particular line of work.  Eligible permissive candidates are then referred to the department for interview.

Applications are kept on file in Human Resources for six months.  Upon expiration, it is the candidate's responsibility to resubmit an application.

PLEASE NOTE:  Due to potential contractual obligations, this information does not apply to current UW-L employees.  UW-L classified employees must sign up for each specific vacancy as it is announced in order to be considered.  Failure to do so may result in non-consideration.

SPECIAL NOTE

For UW-La Crosse campus safety information and crime statistics/Annual Security report, please see http://www.uwlax.edu/studentlife/secrpt.html, and for drug and alcohol information see http://uwlax.edu/hr/drugfreewp.html, or call Human Resources at (608) 785-8013 for a paper copy.
