Welcome to the Undergraduate Research and Creativity Center

The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse is dedicated to supporting research and scholarly activities of students. UW-L students have been involved in research projects and scholarly activities for many years. The UW-L Undergraduate Research Committee aims to formalize and institutionalize this experience on campus.

The Undergraduate Research Committee offers support to students in the form of funding, publication of the Journal of Undergraduate Research, and sponsorship of both the UW-L Celebration of Research and Creative Activity and UW-System Symposium for Undergraduate Research and Creativity.

NCUR Abstract Submission

Online abstract submission is open for the National Conference on Undergraduate Research (NCUR). Submission has been extended through December 3, 2008. NCUR will be held April 16-18, 2009 at UW-La Crosse. The university is paying the registration fee for UW-L students to present, in return students are expected to volunteer eight hours over the course of NCUR. UW-L students, please list Ms. Amery Bodelson as the Undergraduate Research Coordinator when you submit your abstract.

UW-L Celebration Abstract Submission

Online abstract submission is open for UW-L's Celebration of Student Research and Creativity; all UW-L undergraduate and graduate students are welcome to submit an abstract to present their research or creativity activities on Friday, April 3, 2009. Submission is open through Wednesday, February, 18, 2009. The UW-L Abstract Submission form will take you directly to the SelectSurvey.net sign in page. Users should sign in using their normal 8.4 username, using the same password used for sign in to Outlook. The word "eagle" does NOT need to be used as it is already displayed on the log-in screen.

Scholarship Opportunity

The Fourth Annual Liberal Arts Essay Scholarship Competition sponsored by the University of Wisconsin System Advisory Group on the Liberal Arts (SAGLA) is open to any undergraduate student with a current GPA of at least 3.4 who has completed a minimum of 60 credit hours by the end of the Fall Semester 2008, with at least one semester (Fall 2009) as a full-time student remaining. Two scholarships for $2,000 each are available to students from the UW comprehensive and doctoral institutions. All submissions are to be original essays. This year's topic: Discuss ways that a liberal education prepares you to be a more engaged and effective citizen.
