General Education Requirements

As a graduation requirement, all undergraduate students at UW-La Crosse must complete the general education program. Requirements are listed by groups of courses and the number of credits of course work in each of the groups:

6 credits of Literacy: Tools for Skilled Communication *
7 credits of Mathematical/Logical Systems (This group is fulfilled by physics core requirements)
3 credits of Minority Cultures or Multiracial Women's Studies
6 credits of International and Multicultural Studies
4 credits of Science (This group is fulfilled by physics core requirements)
3 credits of Self and Society
6 credits of Humanistic Studies
4 credits of Arts
3 credits of Health and Physical Well Being

In addition to the course requirements listed above, students must complete two Writing Emphasis courses. Refer to the current UW-La Crosse Undergraduate Catalog for options within the general education program.
