Library and Information Literacy Instruction
Information Literacy
Students who graduate from the University of
Wisconsin-La Crosse need information literacy skills to
enable them to become “life-long learners who will be
engaged as knowledgeable and responsible citizens in a
diverse and ever-changing world.” (General
Education Mission Statement.)
What We Offer
More than 250 information literacy instruction sessions
are offered each year reaching more than 5,000 UWL
students annually. Class presentations through the
cooperative efforts of the instructor and the librarian
are designed to meet the needs of each instructor’s
course requirements. Librarians can introduce students
to library resources, information technology, research
strategies and information literacy skills such as
critical thinking.

Come see how well this concept works for library instruction!
Seminar Room 120 is available to instructors who wish to use it on an infrequent basis, to guide classes as they conduct research in the library. It is also used for library meetings. To reserve it, sign up on the reservation calendar posted in the room.
