UW-L Captures Colorado College Invite; Schoonover Named MVP

Colorado Springs, Colo. The UW-La Crosse volleyball team improved to 8-0 on the season as the Eagles captured the Molten/Wyndham Colorado College Invitational Saturday afternoon. UW-L went 4-0 in the two-day invitational.
The Eagles opened play with a 3-0 (30-22, 30-27, 30-28) victory over Webster University, Mo. Friday afternoon before a 3-1 (30-22, 21-30, 30-28, 30-26) win over host Colorado College Friday night.
In Saturday's first-match, UW-L earned a 3-0 (30-22, 30-10, 30-23) victory over Whitman College, Wash. The Eagles then defeated Webster University 3-0 (30-22, 30-23, 30-13) in the invitational's championship match.
Amber Schoonover was named the Most Valuable Player of the invitational while Samantha Dries and Katelyn Carlson joined her on the all-tournament team.
UW-L returns to action Friday, September 14 hosting Lakeland College, Wis. at 3:30 p.m. and Illinois Wesleyan University at 7:30 p.m. in Mitchell Hall.
