UW-L Competes at UW-Stout Open; Eagles Win Both Relays

Menomonie, Wis. – The UW-La Crosse women's track & field team competed at the UW-Stout Open Saturday afternoon in Menomonie. No team scores were recorded.
The Eagles had five individual and two relays champions Saturday. Individually, UW-L's Danica Schaefer took the 400-meter dash (59.70), Kriston Siemianowski the 800-meter run (2:20.68) and Michelle Horn the 3,000-meter run (10:35.16). Lauren Terry captured the long jump (15-6) while Caitlin Schetter won the triple jump (36-4).
UW-L also swept the relays as Schetter, Schaefer, Ashton May and Lauren Seidl won the 4x200-meter (1:45.48) and Schaefer, Kelsey Katarow, Maggie May and Kayla Raduka the 4x400 (4:03.22).
Individually, Schetter was second in the 55-meter dash (7.32) while Kailey Charlton finished third (7.60) and Katie Fondow fourth (7.61). Laurel Beck finished fourth in the 200-meter dash (27.49) for the Eagles while Megan Johnson placed third (5:23.04) and Courtney Rucker fifth (5:35.13) in the mile run. Alison Kolinski was fifth in the 3,000-meter run (10:46.92), Whitney Nefstead fourth in the 5,000-meter run (19:28.87) and Maggie May fifth in the 55-meter hurdles (9.01).
In the field events, Kaitlin Genthe finished second in the pole vault (11-3 3/4) while Jamie Scott and Alecia Ellingstad tied for third (10-10) and Kaitlin Joyce was fifth (10-10). Jenna Hudziak tied third in the high jump (4-11 1/2) while Terry and Kayla Johnson tied for fifth (4-11 1/2).
The Eagles' Abby Schulz was third in the triple jump (35-0 1/4) while Christy Bohl finished third (42-8 1/4) and Jessica Ramel fourth (41-0 1/4) in the shot put.
