UW-L Competes at Coca Cola Classic; Bohl Wins Shot Put

River Falls, Wis. - The UW-La Crosse women's track & field team competed at the Coca Cola Classic at UW-River Falls Saturday afternoon. No team scores were kept.
The Eagles' Christy Bohl captured the shot put (45-10) and UW-L took the 4x400-meter relay (3:58.81). The 4x200-meter relay placed second (1:46.59).
Other top individual finishes in field events included Alecia Ellingstad third in the pole vault (11-6 1/2); Jessica Ramel fourth in the shot put (40-10 1/2) and Jenna Hudziak fifth in the high jump (5-1). Ellingstad was also third in the 55-meter hurdles (8.77) and Jamie Scott finished fourth (8.86).
UW-L's Danica Schaefer was second in the 400-meter dash (58.42) while teammate Kelsey Katarow finished third (59.16). Kailey Charlton placed fifth in the 55-meter dash (7.52) while Laurel Beck was fourth in the 200-meter dash (26.65) and Beth Richmond third in the 800-meter run (2:21.89).
Alison Kolinski finished third in the mile run (5:19.62) and Whitney Nefstead was fourth in the 5,000-meter run (18:51.96). In the 3,000-meter run, the Eagles' Michelle Horn placed second (10:22.86) and Stephanie Perleberg third (10:24.98).
UW-L returns to action Friday, Feb. 20 hosting Augustana College (Ill.) and Winona State University (Minn.) at 4:30 p.m. in Mitchell Hall.
