UW-L Competes at Badger Open; Four Individuals Win Events

Madison, Wis. - The UW-La Crosse women's track & field team competed at the Wisconsin Badger Open Saturday afternoon at the Camp Randall Memorial Sports Center. No team scores were kept.
Four individuals captured titles Saturday for the Eagles. Kailey Charleton won the 60-meter dash (8.12) while Caitlin Schetter took the 200-meter dash (25.78). UW-L's Stephanie Perleberg won the mile run (5:11.02) and Kriston Siemianowski the 800-meter run (2:22.55).
Other top finishers for the Eagles included Lauren Beck second in the 60-meter dash (8.13) while Alecia Ellingstad was third (9.41) and teammate Maggie May fifth (9.63) in the 60-meter hurdles.
In the mile run, along with Perleberg finishing first, UW-L's Michelle Horn was second (5:13.43), Megan Johnson third (5:17.84) and Alison Kolinski fourth (5:18.00). The Eagles' Lauren Seidl finished second (26.07), Kelsey Katarow third (26.08) and Beck fifth (26.58) in the 200-meter dash.
Danica Schaefer was second in the 400-meter dash (59.23) while Kelsey Heinz finished third in the 800-meter run (2:28.23).
In field events, Kaitlin Genthe finished second (12-3 1/2) and Ellingstad fourth (11-9 3/4) in the pole vault while Sara Mitchell placed fifth in the high jump (5-0 1/4). Schetter was fourth (37-2 1/4) and Abby Schultz fifth (36-1 1/2) in the triple jump.
