UW-L Opens Season with Dual Win at Beloit

Beloit, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse women’s tennis team opened its 2007-08 season with a 7-2 dual victory at Beloit College Friday afternoon. The Eagles won four of six singles matches and swept all three doubles.

In singles, Sarah Schoenwaelder (No. 2); Carlie Bohrman (No. 3); Katie McDonald (No. 4) and Kristen Holle (No. 5) recorded wins for UW-L. Schoenwaelder defeated Erika Zevin (6-4, 6-2); Bohrman defeated Sidra Montgomery (6-2, 6-0); McDonald defeated Emily Maroney (6-1, 6-0) and Holle defeated Lily Rubenstein (6-0, 6-0).

Debbie Braun/Schoenwalder earned a 8-6 victory at No. 1 doubles for the Eagles over Hannah Perwin/Zevin. At No. 2 doubles, Bohrman/McDonald defeated Lily Rubenstein/Julia Win 8-0 while Brit Wagner/McDonell earned an 8-2 win at No. 3 doubles over Montgomery/Kate Boynton.

UW-L returns to action Saturday, September 8 at the UW-Whitewater Invitational.
