UW-L Drops Regular Season Finale at UW-Eau Claire

Eau Claire, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse women’s tennis team fell 6-3 at UW-Eau Claire Saturday afternoon in the Eagles' final regular-season match of the season. UW-L drops to 5-4 overall and 2-4 in the WIAC.

The Blugolds won four of six singles matches. Sarah Riordan defeated Debbie Braun at No. 1 (6-1, 6-4) singles for UW-Eau Claire while Brenna McCormick earned a win over Sarah Schoenwaelder at No. 4 (6-3, 6-2). UW-Eau Claire's Erin Welch beat UW-L's Anna Schmidt at No. 5 singles (6-4, 6-1) while Liz Deprey defeated Kristen Holle at No. 6 (6-2, 6-4).

UW-L earned victories at No. 2 and 3 singles. Carlie Bohrman beat Gina Dahl at No. 2 (6-4, 6-4) while Katie McDonald defeated Kristie Carlson at No. 3 (6-3, 6-0).

UW-Eau Claire won two of three doubles matches. Carlson/McCormick defeated Braun/McDonald at No. 2 (8-6) while Deprey/Welch beat Brit Wagner/Kelley McDonell at No. 3 (8-5).

The Eagles' duo of Schoenwaelder/Bohrman defeated Riordan/Dahl at No. 1 doubles (8-1).

UW-L returns to action Saturday, October 20 at the WIAC Tournament in Madison, Wisconsin.
