Schultz Named WIAC Pitcher of the Week; Also Earns Regional Honor

Madison, Wis. – UW-La Crosse sophomore righthander Heather Schultz of Annandale, Minn. (H.S.) has been selected the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Softball Pitcher of the Week, the conference office announced Tuesday. She has also been named the Division III Softball - The Newsletter Great Lakes Regional Player of the Week.
Schultz went 4-0 to start the season with a 0.00 earned run average. She combined on a no-hitter in a 10-0 victory over Minnesota-Morris Feb. 2. Schultz pitched a complete game in a 2-0 win over Marian University (Wis.) March 1, allowing three hits while striking out 11.
She had a complete game (5.0 innings) in a 10-0 win over St. Olaf College (Minn.) March 5, allowing six hits with 10 strikeouts.
In four appearances, she has 20.0 innings pitched, 11 hits allowed, no runs allowed and one walk while striking out 32.
UW-L returns to action Saturday, March 14 against the University of St. Thomas (Minn.) at 9:30 p.m. in Rosemount, Minnesota.
