UW-L Falls at St. Thomas

St. Paul, Minn. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse soccer team fell 3-2 at the University of St. Thomas (Minn.) Wednesday afternoon. The Eagles fall to 1-1 on the season with the loss while the Tommies improve to 2-1.
St. Thomas raced out to a 2-0 halftime lead and led 3-0 in the second half before UW-L scored twice. Amy Cory, the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Offensive Player of the Week, notched her third goal of the season in the 56th minute to make it 2-1. Ramsey Weyenberg then scored her first goal of the season in the 68th minute for the Eagles with an assist from Sarah Harrington, but St. Thomas was able to hold on for the victory.
The Tommies finished with 10 shots on goal compared to the Eagles' three. Amanda Clark recorded four saves in goal for UW-L while Kaisa Erickson had three for St. Thomas.
UW-L returns to action Saturday, September 8 at Cornell College (Iowa) beginning at 1 p.m.
