Cory Gives UW-L Overtime Win at Simpson

Indianola, Iowa - For the second time in four matches, UW-La Crosse's Amy Cory scored an overtime goal to give the Eagles a victory. Cory scored an unassisted goal at 95:40 as UW-L earned a 2-1 overtime win over Simpson College Sunday afternoon.
UW-L improves to 3-1 with the victory while Simpson falls to 1-3.
Cory scored her team-leading sixth and seventh goals of the season in the win. After a scoreless first half, she gave UW-L a 1-0 lead at 59:42 with assists from Michaela Kocon and Ramsey Weyenberg. Simpson tied the match at 68:56 with a goal from Kellie Whitney.
Cory then scored her game-winning goal at 95:40. She had notched the deciding goal in UW-L's 2-1 season opening overtime victory over Minnesota-Morris September 2.
UW-L finished with 13 shots against Simpson, including nine on goal. Simpson recorded eight shots with four on goal.
Amanda Clark recorded three saves for the Eagles while Whitney Franker had seven for the Storm.
UW-L returns to action Saturday, September 15 hosting UW-River Falls in the WIAC opener at 2 p.m.
