Trieloff Scores Twice as Eagles Win Third Overtime Match of Season

La Crosse, Wis. - The UW-La Crosse soccer team improved to 4-1 on the season with a 2-1 overtime victory over UW-River Falls Saturday afternoon at Veterans Field. The Falcons fall to 1-5 overall. It was the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference opener for both squads.

For the third time this season UW-L recorded an overtime victory. Kaili Trieloff scored the game-winning goal at 92:30 with an assist from Ramsey Weyenberg.

Trieloff had given the Eagles a 1-0 lead at 31:09 with an assist from Weyenberg. The Falcons tied the match at 1-1 at 77:25 as Julie Sperstad scored on a corner kick from Jen Terry.

UW-L finished with 24 shots in the match, including 10 on goal. UW-River Falls totaled 23 shots, nine on goal.

Amanda Clark recorded seven saves for the Eagles while Emily Stieler finished with eight for the Falcons.

UW-L returns to action Wednesday, September 19 hosting UW-Stevens Point at 4 p.m.
