UW-L Finishes Second at Huston Invite; Boldt Places Ninth

Waverly, Iowa The UW-La Crosse women's cross country team finished second at the 11th Annual Dan Huston Invitational Saturday afternoon at Wartburg College. The Eagles placed second with 63 team points while Wartburg took the team title with 39 points. Carleton, Minn. placed third (105) followed by Northern Iowa (133) and Simpson, Iowa (143) to round-out the top-five.
Loras, Iowa finished sixth (149) followed by Augustana, Ill. (158), UW-Platteville (220), Cornell, Iowa (251), Grinnell, Iowa (252) and North Iowa Community College (276).
Rachel Boldt was UW-L's top runner Saturday, finishing ninth overall with a time of 23:22 on the 6,000-meter course. Kriston Siemianowski placed 10th (23:35) for the Eagles while Zoe Browne was 13th (23:40), Mary Olson 17th (23:51) and Courtney Rucker 19th (23:53) in the top-20.
UW-L's Ellen Kumm placed 21st (23:56) while Michelle Joyce was 35th (24:24), Kelsey Heinz 37th (24:28), Megan Stats 42nd (24:36) and Faith Brisbois 45th (24:40).
Other finishers in the top-100 for the Eagles included Lauren Klesmeith 50th (24:45), Leigh-Ann DesRoches 51st (24:46), Emily Keepman 56th (24:56), Corrina Jones 59th (24:59), Katie Vargo 63rd (25:03), Johanna Sumnicht 80th (25:29), Nichelle Roessler 85th (25:39) and Amanda Battermann 86th (25:40).
Megan Foss placed 127th (27:01) and Emily Dixon was 171st (32:03).
