UW-L Places Second at Huston Invite; Three Runners Place in Top-20

Waverly, Iowa – The UW-La Crosse women's cross country team placed second at the Dan Huston Invitational Saturday afternoon at Wartburg College. The Eagles finished with 80 team points. Wartburg took the team championship with 43 points. St. Olaf College was third (95), Central College fourth (135) and UW-Platteville fifth (149). A total of 12 teams competed.

UW-L had three runners place in the top-20 Saturday. Megan Johnson was 12th overall with a time of 23:06 on the 6,000-meter course. Katelynn Williams was 14th (23:20) and Lauren Moss 16th (23:22).

The Eagles' Kayla La Porte was 21st overall (23:30) while Kristina Bennwitz finished 22nd (23:31), Michelle Horn 24th (23:33), Alison Kolinski 27th (23:40) and Zoe Browne 30th (23:43).

Other top finishers in the top-50 included: Stephanie Perleberg 33rd (23:55), Ellen Kumm 35th (23:58), Rachel Boldt 38th (24:07), Kelsey Bauer 43rd (24:23), Courtney Rucker 47th (24:26), Mary Olson 49th (24:31) and Kriston Siemianowski 50th (24:33).

UW-L returns to action Saturday, October 18 as it hosts the Tori Neubauer Invitational at noon at Maple Grove Country Club in West Salem.
