UW-L Falls at Concordia, St. Paul; Hunter Scores Twenty-Six

St. Paul, Minn. The UW-La Crosse women's basketball team fell 82-60 at NCAA Division II Concordia University, St. Paul Saturday afternoon in the Wildwood Lodge Tip-Off Tournament. The Eagles fall to 1-1 on the season while the Cougars improve to 4-1.
UW-L took a 21-19 lead with 5:08 left in the first half after a pair of Lindsay Wahl free throws, but Concordia, St. Paul finished the half on a 22-5 run to lead 41-26.
The Eagles could get no closer than 13 points in the second half.
Mackenzie Hunter, who scored 27 points in UW-L's 87-73 victory over Division II Bemidji State University (Minn.) Friday, came back to finish with 26 points in Saturday's loss to Concordia, St. Paul. She went over the 1,000 career point mark in Friday's win and now has 1,044 points, 13th in school history. Hunter was 10-of-18 from the field against the Cougars Saturday, including hitting both of her three-point attempts. She was four-of-four at the free throw line.
Wahl added 10 points Saturday for UW-L while Amanda Waldvogel and Anna Halat each scored seven. Waldvogel also grabbed a game-high seven rebounds.
UW-L shot 34.0% from the field, including 27.3% (three-of-11) from three-point range. The Eagles were 21-of-24 (87.5%) at the line.
Jamie Jones led four Concordia, St. Paul players in double figures with 15 points. She hit all seven of her shots on the day, finishing four-of-four (three-of-three from three-point range) from the field and four-of-four at the free throw line. Candace Olstad added 14 points for the Cougars while Kali Olstad finished with 13 and Kelly Supernaw 12.
Concordia, St. Paul shot 54.0% from the field, including 64.0% (16-of-25) in the first half. The team was eight-of-18 (44.4%) from three-point range in the contest and 20-of-22 (90.9%) at the free throw line.
UW-L returns to action Tuesday, November 25 hosting city-rival Viterbo University at 6 p.m.
