UW-L Wins Third Straight Game with Victory at UW-Oshkosh

Oshkosh, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse women's basketball team picked up its third straight win with a 67-58 victory at UW-Oshkosh Saturday afternoon at Kolf Sports Center. The Eagles improve to 12-10 overall and 7-6 in the WIAC while the Titans fall to 9-13 overall and 4-9 in the conference.
UW-Oshkosh led by as many as six points in the first half at 8-2 with 15:25 remaining. The Titans later led 22-17 with 6:31 left when the Eagles went on an 8-0 run to lead 25-22 with just over two minutes remaining. The contest was tied 27-27 at intermission.
The game was tied 29-29 with 19:08 left when UW-L scored 10 of the next 12 points to lead 39-31 with 15:18 remaining. UW-Oshkosh would get no closer than five the rest of the game. The Eagles led 42-37 with 13:25 left when they went on a 11-2 run to lead 53-39 with 8:19 remaining. UW-L led by as many as 15 points in the second half.
Mackenzie Hunter led UW-L with 14 points (10 in second half) while Amanda Waldvogel added 12 points (eight in 1st half) and Lindsay Wahl 11 (all coming in final 20 minutes). Melissa Lang scored nine points for the Eagles while Mandy Stevens finished with eight. Anna Halat had a team-high six rebounds.
UW-L shot 42.4% from the field, including 55.6% (15-of-27) in the second half. The Eagles were two-of-seven (28.6%) from three-point range in the game and 15-of-18 (83.3%) at the free throw line.
Whitney Tyriver led UW-Oshkosh with 12 points while Erin Baganz and Laura Ebbens each added 10. Tyriver and Baganz led the team with seven rebounds each.
UW-Oshkosh shot 42.3% from the field, including 23.5% (four-of-17) from three-point range. The Titans were 10-of-12 (83.3%) at the line.
UW-L returns to action Wednesday, February 13 hosting UW-River Falls at 7 p.m.
