Riley Named WIAC Field Athlete of the Week

Madison, Wis. - UW-La Crosse senior Bobby Riley of Wittenberg (Wittenberg-Birnamwood) has been selected the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Men's Field Athlete of the Week, the conference office announced Tuesday. He was also honored with the recognition April 7. 
Riley won the shot put (58-4 3/4) and discus throw (177-0) at the Phil Esten Challenge April 17 at St. Mary's University (Minn.). He automatically qualified for the NCAA Division III Championship in both events and posted the top performance in the country in both disciplines.
The Eagles earned the team title in the seven-team meet with 256.50 points.
UW-L returns to action Thursday, April 23 at the Gina Relays in Hillsdale, Michigan and at the Drake Relays in Des Moines, Iowa.
