UW-L Competes at Minnesota State and Bowlus Opens

La Crosse, Wis. – The UW-La Crosse men's track & field team competed at two meets Saturday. No team scores were kept as the Eagles saw action at the Minnesota State Mankato Open and Warren Bowlus Open at UW-Stout.
At Minnesota State, Jessie Dengsavang and Dallas Vincent earned individual event titles. Dengsavang captured the triple jump (45-4 1/2) while Vincent won the mile run (4:11.49). The Eagles also took the 4x400-meter relay (3:20.74).
Other top finishes in field events included David Stauder and Clark Lundquist tying for second in the high jump (6-5 1/2) while Chad Heemstra placed third in the triple jump (44-0 3/4). UW-L's Nick Stone was fourth (21-6 3/4) and Jordan Young fifth (21-6) in the long jump.
On the track, Matt Gordy recorded fourth-place finishes in the 60 (6.96) and 200 (22.46) meter dashes while Alex Rooker finished third in the 400-meter dash (50.22). The Eagles' Zach Wilhelmy was fourth in the mile run (4:20.49) and Jamar Jackson fourth in the 60-meter hurdles (8.40).

In the Bowlus Open, Connor Lonning and Bobby Riley won events for UW-L. Lonning captured the 5,000-meter run (15:11.17) and Riley the shot put (51-11).
Other top finishes on the track included Paul Moran placing third (15:26.34) and Logan O'Grady fourth (15:30.38) in the 5,000-meter run while Josh Kaul was fifth in the 3,000-meter run (8:59.07). The Eagles' Mitch Wilson placed third in the 800-meter run (1:57.74).
Along with Riley's first-place finish in the shot put, UW-L's Erik Rasmussen was third (47-3 1/2). The Eagles' Jason Prochnow tied for third in the pole vault (14-10 1/4) while Jeremiah Burish was fifth (14-10 1/4).
