UW-L Wins Fourth Straight Dual with Victory over Simpson

Decorah, Iowa - The UW-La Crosse men’s tennis team picked up its fourth straight dual victory Saturday by the score of 9-0 over Simpson College (Iowa). The match was played Luther College.

In singles play, Joey Van Lieshout defeated Luke Riessleman at No. 1 (6-1, 6-0) while Nick Piotrowski beat Adam Summit at No. 2 (6-1, 6-0). The Eagles' Nathan Fekete earned a win over Noah Saunders at No. 3 singles (6-3, 6-1) and Steven Quiring defeated Kyle Shilling at No. 4 (6-1, 6-1).

Doug Marmar beat Daniel Schneider at No. 5 (6-0, 6-1) and Paul Vickers defeated Russell Place at No. 6 (6-0, 6-1).

The Eagles swept all three doubles matches. Van Lieshout/Piotrowski defeated Riessleman/Place at No. 1 (8-1); Fekete/Quiring earned a win over Saunders/Shilling at No. 2 (8-3) and Vickers/Sam Talarczyk beat Summitt/Schneider at No. 3 (8-0).

UW-L returns to action Sunday, March 8 versus Ripon College (Wis.) in Oshkosh at 4 p.m.
