Offensive Line Named to D3football.com Team of the Week

La Crosse, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse offensive line has been named to the D3football.com Team of the Week.

The Eagles’ starting line-up of senior left tackle Tommy Olsen of Evansville (H.S.); senior left guard Randy Gyllin of Mauston (H.S.); sophomore center Andrew Gebel of Oshkosh (West); junior right guard Jason Olejniczak of Germantown (H.S.) and sophomore right tackle Tyler Smith of Middleton (H.S.) earned the honor after UW-L’s 47-21 win at then 11th-ranked Hardin-Simmons University (Texas) September 1.

UW-L, ranked sixth in this week’s D3football.com Top-25 poll, finished with 662 yards of offense in its victory over the Cowboys, including 322 yards rushing and 340 passing. The 662 yards are the third-most in single-game school history.

The Eagles’ offensive line allowed no sacks on 23 passing plays. UW-L averaged 5.6 yards per rushing attempt and 8.2 yards per offensive play.

UW-L returns to action Saturday, September 15 hosting Azusa Pacific University (Calif.) at 1 p.m.
