Lonning Named WIAC Athlete of the Week

Madison, Wis. – UW-La Crosse senior Connor Lonning of La Crosse (Aquinas) has been selected the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Men's Cross Country Athlete of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday.

Lonning placed fifth overall at the Jim Drews Invitational Oct. 17 at Maple Grove Golf Course in West Salem. He ran the 8,000-meter course in a time of 24:50.2 and helped lead UW-L to a second-place finish behind NCAA I the University of Wisconsin.

A total of 462 runners participated in the event.

UW-L returns to action Friday, Oct. 23 at Luther College (Iowa) at 5 p.m.
