UW-L Wins Griak Invite; Zdroik Finishes Fourth Overall

Minneapolis, Minn. – The UW-La Crosse men’s cross country team won the Roy Griak Maroon Division III Invitational Saturday morning at Les Bolstad Golf Course at the University of Minnesota. The Eagles finished with 53.0 team points with UW-Platteville second (105.0 points) and Iowa Central Community College third (108.0). Carleton College finished fourth (183.0) and Hamline University fifth (183.0) to round out the top-five.

A total of 34 teams competed.

Individually, Paul Zdroik finished fourth overall for the Eagles with a time of 25:48.2 on the 8,000-meter course. UW-Platteville's Tyler Sigl captured the individual title with a time of 25:20.9. UW-L had three other finishers in the top-11 Saturday as Dan Thour placed eighth (26:13.4), Paul Moran ninth (26:17.6) and Connor Lonning 11th (26:19.7).

Logan O'Grady was 21st (26:40.7) for UW-L while Dallas Vincent placed 26th (26:45.8), Kyle Coghlan 29th (26:50.8) and Scott Hayden 33rd (26:54.3).

Also for the Eagles: Ben Herdeman finished 39th (26:59.7); Chris Gilbert 48th (27:12.0); Ross MacDonald 55th (27:19.6) and Tom Breitbach 60th (27:21.6).
