UW-L Finishes Seventh at Blugold Open

Colfax, Wis. – The UW-La Crosse men’s cross country team placed seventh out of 20 teams Friday at the UW-Eau Claire Blugold Open at Whitetail Golf Course. The Eagles finished with 164.0 team points while Minnesota-Duluth took the team title with 65.0 points. Wartburg College (Iowa) was second with 76.0 and Macalester College (Minn.) third with 134.0

Leading the way for UW-L was Sean Harrington who placed 22nd overall with a time of 27:01.06 on the 8,000-meter course. John Heitzman finished 32nd for the Eagles (27:10.32) while Josh Hohensee was 40th overall (27:19.40).

Dan Pizzi finished 44th (27:24.05) for UW-L with Brock Vike 50th (27:29.78), Steve Vesbach 57th (27:43.77) and Connor Sparks 68th (28:03.87). Other runners included: Mike Miller 99th (28:35.21), Dan Buvid 148th (29:19.22) and Wade Hassel 168th (29:36.43).
