UW-L Snaps Three-Game Losing Streak

La Crosse, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse men's basketball team snapped a three-game losing streak with a 76-65 victory over UW-Stout Saturday afternoon in Mitchell Hall on Senior Day. The Eagles improve to 11-13 overall and 6-9 in the WIAC while the Blue Devils fall to 5-18 overall and 2-12 in the conference. UW-L has now won eight of the last 11 meetings with UW-Stout.

The contest was tied 8-8 in the first half when UW-L went on a 12-0 run to lead 20-8 with 11:48 left. The Eagles led 40-27 at halftime.

UW-L opened an 18-point lead at 55-37 with 13:48 remaining before UW-Stout came back to cut the lead to 59-54 with 7:13 left. The Eagles then went on a 10-3 run to lead 69-57 with 3:17 left and the Blue Devils could get no closer than nine the rest of the game.

Tony Mane led UW-L with 26 points, finishing eight-of-14 from the field, including five-of-nine from three-point range. He was also five-of-six at the free throw line and added four rebounds and two steals. A total of five players scored in double figures for the Eagles. Austin Scott finished with 12 points, hitting four-of-five from three-point range, while Billy Kegler and Andrew Haass each scored 11. Haass also finished with a team-high five rebounds. Chris Fehrenbach totaled 10 points for the Eagles.

UW-L shot 46.9% from the field, including 47.8% (11-of-23) from three-point range. The Eagles were 19-of-23 (82.6%) at the free throw line.

Miles Webb led UW-Stout with 15 points while Alex Mason added 12 points and a game-high nine rebounds. The Blue Devils shot 47.3% from the field, including 41.2% (seven-of-17) from three-point range. UW-Stout was six-of-nine (66.7%) at the line.

UW-L returns to action Wednesday, February 20 at UW-Stevens Point at 7 p.m.
