Eagles Shoot Season-High in Win over Blue Devils

Menomonie, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse men's basketball team shot a season-high 62.2% from the field and earned a 69-61 victory at UW-Stout Saturday night in Johnson Fieldhouse. The Eagles improve to 7-7 overall and 2-3 in the WIAC with the victory while the Blue Devils, who lost their 10th straight game, drop to 3-11 overall and 0-5 in the conference.

UW-L never trailed in the contest, racing out to a 16-7 lead with 14:15 left in the opening half. The Blue Devils later cut the deficit to 31-27 with 3:31 remaining, but the Eagles scored the final eight points of the half to lead 39-27. UW-L shot 65.2% (15-of-23) from the field in the first half.

The Eagles led by as many as 18 points in the second half at 46-28 and UW-Stout could get no closer than seven the remainder of the contest.

Chris Fehrenbach led UW-L with 19 points, going five-of-nine from the field, including four-of-six from three-point range. He was five-of-six at the free throw line and grabbed a game-high eight rebounds. Billy Kegler added 15 points for the Eagles, finishing four-of-four from the field and seven-of-eight at the line. Kegler finished with a game-high seven assists.

Andrew Haass and TJ Nereng each finished with eight points for UW-L.

The Eagles shot 62.2% from the field, including 45.5% (five-of-11) from three-point range. UW-L was 18-of-20 (90.0%) at the line.

Alex Mason and Miles Webb led UW-Stout with 13 points each while Brandon White-Blackmon finished with 10. The Blue Devils shot 35.0% from the field, including 33.3% (eight-of-24) from three-point range. UW-Stout was 11-of-14 (78.6%) at the free throw line.
