Fehrenbach and Mane Selected to All-WIAC Honorable Mention Team; Kegler Named to All-Sportsmanship Team

Madison, Wis. – University of Wisconsin-La Crosse senior guard Chris Fehrenbach of Waukesha (Catholic Memorial) and freshman guard Tony Mane of Milwaukee (Thomas More) have been selected to the 2007-08 All-Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Men’s Basketball Honorable Mention Team in a vote by league coaches..

It is the second straight all-conference honorable mention choice for Fehrenbach.

UW-L senior forward Billy Kegler of Waterloo (H.S.) has also been named to the 2007-08 WIAC All-Sportmanship Team.

Fehrenbach started all 26 games this season, ranking second on the team in scoring at 11.0 points per game while finishing fourth in rebounding with 3.6 per contest. He also averaged 1.7 assists. Fehrenbach scored in double digits in 14 games this year, including a season-high 31 points at UW-Superior January 5. He attempted a school record 18 three-point field goals against the Yellowjackets, converting six. Fehrenbach was second on the team in three-point field goals made (50) and attempted (140) while shooting 35.7%. He also shot 75.4% (43-of-57) at the free throw line.

Fehrenbach ranks first in school history in career three-point field goals made (212) and attempted (538) while being 11th in scoring (1,087 points). He is also fifth in career steals (119) at UW-L and 16th in career field goals made (364). Fehrenbach scored a career-high 33 points at UW-Oshkosh February 5, 2005. He made eight three-point field goals against the Titans, which currently ranks tied for third in single-game school history.

Mane, who also started all 26 contests this season, led UW-L with 17.0 points per game while also averaging 3.3 rebounds and 1.5 assists. He scored in double figures 18 times in 2007-08, including 12 contests with at least 20 points. Mane totaled a career-high 37 points at UW-Stevens Point February 25 in the WIAC Tournament Quarterfinals, which is tied for ninth in single-game school history. The 37 points also tied a WIAC Tournament record and Mane’s 32 field goals (15 made) set a school record.

A transfer from Chicago State, Mane led UW-L in three-point field goals made (66) and attempted (188) this season, shooting 35.1%. His 66 three-point field goals made is tied for seventh in single-season school history while the 188 attempts ranks third. He also shot 78.3% (54-of-69) at the line this year.

Mane ranks fifth in the WIAC this season in three-point field goals made per game (2.54), sixth in scoring (17.0) and ninth in free throw shooting (78.3%).

Kegler started 24 of 26 games in 2007-08, averaging 7.8 points, 4.4 rebounds and 2.0 assists. He finished second on the team in rebounding. Kegler scored in double figures in 11 games this year, including a career-high 25 points at Lakeland College (Wis.) November 17. He also grabbed a career-high nine rebounds at Lakeland.

A four-year letter winner at UW-L, Kegler shot 49.3% (75-of-152) from the field this year and 72.4% (52-of-68) at the line. He led the Eagles with 14 blocks this season. Kegler ranks 11th in the WIAC in blocks (0.5) and 17th in rebounds (4.4) per game.

UW-L finished 11-15 overall in 2007-08, including 6-10 in the WIAC. The Eagles fell 74-66 at UW-Stevens Point in the WIAC Tournament Quarterfinals.
