Welcome to Psychology
We hope the tutorials on the following
pages will help you understand the requirements for the major. If you are
a student entering UW-L Fall 2009 or later, we have new entrance
requirements. Our Psychology Major requires that you complete two
milestones:
Milestone #1:
- Complete the Psychology Tutorials --you are doing that right now if you are reading this!
- Meet with Dr. Emily Johnson or another member of the Psychology Department Advising Team.
- Complete a change of major form and turn it into the College of Liberal Studies Office in 260 Morris Hall (the form is available in the college office).
Milestone #2:
- Earn at least a grade of "C" in psychology 100 (introduction to Psychology) and
- Earn at least a grade of "C" in Math 145 (Statistics)
- Complete ENG 110 and CST 110
- Earn a minimum of a 2.25 across these four courses.
- Complete a minimum of 30 credits
Milestone #2 must be met before you can enroll in the required Research Methods Lecture and Laboratory Courses, PSY 331 & 332
Students who have not yet completed these requirements will NOT be able eligible to take some of the required courses in the major. It is also important that you complete the steps so that you will be assigned a Psychology Advisor who can help guide you toward academic success.
