UW-La Crosse Competes at UW-Stout Open

Menomonie, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse women's track & field team competed at the UW-Stout Open Saturday in Menomonie. No team scores were kept.

Four individuals came away with titles Saturday for the Eagles. Abby Lien captured the 400-meter dash (1:00.88), Megan Johnson the mile (5:16.01), Jamie Scott the pole vault (11-3 3/4) and Caitlin Schetter the long jump (18-6 1/2).

UW-L also won the 4x400-meter relay (4:01.67).

In top-finishes on the track, Danica Schaefer was second in the 200-meter dash (26.40) while Michelle Horn was second in the 3,000-meter run (10:53.33). The Eagles were also second in the 4x200-meter relay (1:52.06). Katie Steingraeber placed third in the 400-meter dash (1:01.25) and Beth Richmond was third in the 800-meter run (2:24.47).

In field evnts, Tiffany Ness was second in the pole vault (10-10) while Katie Fondow placed second in the triple jump (35-8 1/2).

Third-place finishers included: Kayla Johnson in the high jump (5-1 1/4), Ashton May in the long jump (17-1 1/2), Christy Bohl in the shot put (41-6) and Tina Schmidt in the weight throw (49-5 3/4).
