UW-L Falls to UW-Whitewater

La Crosse, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse soccer team had its three-match winning streak snapped with a 2-0 loss to UW-Whitewater Saturday afternoon at Veterans' Field. The Eagles fall to 7-4 overall and 3-3 in the WIAC while the Warhawks improve to 8-6-1 overall and 2-2-1 in the conference.

Stephanie DesJardins scored her first goal of the season at 11:07 to give UW-Whitewater a 1-0 lead. Becky Cera added her fourth goal of the year at 56:45 with an assist from Holly U'ren to make it 2-0.

UW-L outshot UW-Whitewater, 15-7, including 8-4 shots on goal. Amy Cory had seven shots for the Eagles, including four on goal.

Amy Bailey made eight saves for UW-Whitewater and Amanda Clark had two for UW-L.

The Eagles return to action Wednesday, October 10 at Carroll College (Wis.) at 4 p.m.
