UW-L Falls in Overtime to Open Up Conference Play

La Crosse, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse soccer team opened up its Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) season with a 1-0 overtime loss to UW-Oshkosh Saturday afternoon at Veterans Memorial Field Sports Complex.
UW-L falls to 1-1-1 overall while UW-Oshkosh improves to 2-2 overall and 1-0 in the WIAC.
Carmen Fiordellisi notched her third goal of the season at 91:58 to give the Titans the shutout victory. Jessica Erny recorded the assist.
UW-L outshot UW-Oshkosh, 33-13, including 15-9 on shots on goal. The Eagles' Lindsay Wilde finished with seven shots on goal. Brittany Walder recorded 14 saves for the Titans (UW-Oshkosh also had one team save). UW-L's Sagan Pizzingrilli made eight saves.
UW-L returns to action Sunday, Sept. 13 hosting Augustana College (Ill.) at 3 p.m.
