UW-L Clinches Fourth Seed with Win at UW-Superior

Superior, Wis.– The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse soccer team clinched the fourth seed for the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Tournament with a 2-0 victory at UW-Superior Saturday afternoon. The Eagles improve to 10-5-1 overall and 5-3 in the WIAC while the Yellowjackets drop to 6-9-1 overall and 0-8 in the conference.

UW-L will host UW-Oshkosh Tuesday, October 30 in the WIAC Quarterfinals.

Amy Cory scored both goals for the Eagles in their win Saturday at UW-Superior. She tallied her first goal at 5:00 with an assist from Kelleen Gorenc and added her second goal of the match at 50:00 with an assist from Aimee Schneider.

UW-L outshot UW-Superior, 21-9, including 9-3 in shots on goal.

Amanda Clark recorded three saves for the Eagles.

UW-L returns to action Tuesday, October 30 hosting UW-Oshkosh at 2 p.m. in the WIAC Tournament Quarterfinals.
