UW-L Defeats Gustavus Adolphus in Non-Conference Match

La Crosse, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse soccer team improved to 8-4-1 on the season with a 2-0 non-conference victory over Gustavus Adolphus College (Minn.) Sunday afternoon at Veterans Field. The Gusties drop to 7-8 on the season.

UW-L scored twice in the first half. Aimee Schneider notched her third goal of the season at 1:00 with assists from Amy Cory and Erin Wilson. Gustavus Adolphus goalkeeper Chelsea Bayer got a piece of Schneider's shot, but the ball trickled in the net for a 1-0 UW-L lead.

Ramsey Weyenberg scored her fifth goal of the season at 39:11 with an assist from Jennifer Schlesinger. The duo scored after a give-and-go to make it 2-0.

Both team finished with 20 shots in the match with Gustavus Adolphus holding a 5-4 advantage in shots on goal. Bayer had two saves for Gustavus Adolphus while Amanda Clark had five for UW-L.

The Eagles are now 4-2 at home this season.

UW-L returns to action Wednesday, October 17 at the University of Chicago (Ill.) at 4 p.m.
