UW-L Wins UW-Stout Triangular

Menomonie, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse gymnastics squad captured the UW-Stout Triangular Friday night in Johnson Fieldhouse in Menomonie. The Eagles finished with a team score of 183.275 while UW-Eau Claire was second (176.250) and UW-Stout third (175.075).

Erin Sommer won the all-around for the Eagles with a score of 37.025. She placed second on the uneven parallel bars (9.300) and tied for third on the vault (9.375) while finishing fourth on the balance beam (9.175) and fifth on the floor exercise (9.175).

UW-L's Jackie LaFleur was second in the all-around (36.575) while tying for third on the vault (9.375). She also finished third on the beam (9.250) and tied for fifth on the bars (9.000).

Kasey Clausen and Gabi Hooper each won two events for the Eagles Friday night. Clausen won the uneven parallel bars (9.550) and balance beam (9.575) while Hooper captured the vault (9.625) and tied for first on the floor exercise (9.425).

Other top finishers for UW-L included Schaelyn McFadden placing third on the bars (9.200) and Jacqueline Schellinger finishing fifth on the vault (9.350).

UW-L returns to action Friday, February 22 at UW-Oshkosh at 7 p.m.
