UW-L Wins Second Straight Game in Land of Magic Classic

Daytona Beach, Fla. - The UW-La Crosse women's basketball team won its second consecutive game in the Land of Magic Classic Sunday afternoon with a 68-61 victory over Connecticut College at Embry-Riddle University. The Eagles improve to 5-6 on the season with their win while the Camels drop to 8-3.
UW-L led 30-22 at halftime before being outscored 39-38 in the second half.
Mackenzie Hunter led UW-L with 21 points, going nine-of-14 from the field and three-of-three at the free throw line. She also finished with a team-high six rebounds and four steals.
Dana Churchill and Lindsay Wahl each added eight points for the Eagles while Mandy Stevens and Lana Marjanovic had six points. Churchill was four-of-four from the field while finishing with three steals. Wahl was three-of-eight from the field and two-of-seven at the line.
UW-L shot 54.7% from the field, including 64.0% (16-of-25) in the second half. The Eagles were one-of-six (16.7%) from three-point range and nine-of-17 (52.9%) at the line.
Katy Serafin led Connecticut College with 16 points while Cindy Roseen finished with 11 and Lindsay Michel 10. Roseen also recorded a game-high 12 rebounds.
The Camels shot 43.9% from the field, including 28.6% (two-of-seven) from three-point range. Connecticut College finished nine-of-19 (47.4%) at the free throw line.
UW-L returns to action Saturday, January 5 at UW-Superior at 3 p.m.
