UW-L Defeats Bridgewater State in Land of Magic Classic

Daytona Beach, Fla. - The UW-La Crosse women's basketball team snapped a three-game losing streak with a 85-76 victory over Bridgewater State (Mass.) Saturday morning at the Land of Magic Classic being played at Embry-Riddle University. The Eagles improve to 4-6 on the season while the Bears drop to 7-3.

UW-L led 41-34 at halftime and outscored Bridgewater 44-42 in the second half.

Mackenzie Hunter led UW-L with 24 points, finishing 10-of-11 from the field, including hitting her only three-point attempt. She was also three-of-four at the free throw line and added five rebounds. Lindsay Wahl totaled 16 points and five rebounds for the Eagles, going six-of-eight from the field and four-of-six at the line.

Dana Churchill recorded her first career double-double as she set career-highs with 14 points and 10 rebounds. She was six-of-10 from the field and two-of-three at the free throw line. Churchill also recorded three assists.

UW-L shot 54.0% from the field, including 57.1% (16-of-28) in the second half. The Eagles were one-of-four (25.0%) from three-point range and 16-of-25 (64.0%) at the line.

Colleen Feeney led Bridgewater State with 24 points and 11 rebounds. Caitlin Feeney added 18 points, six rebounds, three assists and three steals while Carolyn Swanson finished with 15 points.

Bridgewater State shot 47.5% from the field, including 18.8% (three-of-16) from three-point range. The Bears were 15-of-24 (62.5%) at the free throw line.

UW-L returns to action Sunday, December 30 facing Connecticut College at 1 p.m. (Central Time) in Daytona Beach.
