Johnson Named WIAC Player of the Week

Madison, Wis. - UW-La Crosse senior linebacker Aaron Johnson of Wisconsin Dells (H.S.) has been selected the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Defensive Player of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday.

Johnson had 15 tackles, including eight solo, in UW-L’s 49-47 triple overtime victory at UW-River Falls Oct. 17. He also had 2.5 tackles for loss.

Johnson stopped Falcons’ running back Taylor Edwards on a two-point conversion attempt in the third overtime.

UW-L (5-1, 2-1 WIAC) returns to action Saturday, Oct. 24 hosting UW-Stevens Point at 1 p.m. on Family, Friends & Alumni Weekend.
