UW-L Defeats Luther in Dual Meet; Heitzman Wins Individual Championship

Decorah, Iowa – The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse men's cross country team defeated Luther College in a dual meet Friday night in Decorah. The Eagles finished with 16 team points while the Norse totaled 45.

Leading the way for UW-L was John Heitzman who took the individual title with a time of 21:22. Brock Vike was second overall (21:34) for the Eagles while Sean Harrington placed third (21:38). Other top-10 finishers included: Dan Pizzi sixth (21:43), Tom Breitbach eighth (21:53) and Josh Hohensee 10th (22:01).

Connor Sparks placed 11th for UW-L (22:02), Mike Miller 13th (22:04), Wade Hassel 15th (22:09), Steve Vesbach 17th (22:16), Dan Buvid 23rd (23:09) and Bobby Erickson 32nd (6:01).

UW-L returns to action Saturday, October 27 at the WIAC Championships at Lake Breeze Golf Course in Winneconne, Wisconsin at noon.
