Brown Ties Career-High in Win over UW-River Falls

La Crosse, Wis. The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse men's basketball team improved to 8-9 overall and 3-5 in the WIAC with a 76-61 win over UW-River Falls Wednesday night in Mitchell Hall. The Falcons fall to 7-10 overall and 1-7 in the conference.
Brandon Brown tied his career-high with 19 points for UW-L while Tony Mane finished with a game-high 23 pionts and Chris Fehrenbach added 14. Fehrenbach also became the 14th player in school history to score 1,000 career points as he moved into 13th-place overall with 1,003.
The game was tied six times in the first half, including 28-28 with 4:03 remaining. UW-L then finished the half on a 10-0 run to lead 38-28 at intermission.
The Eagles opened the second half on a 12-4 run to lead 50-32 with 15:35 left as Mane hit one of his five three-pointers in the game. UW-River Falls could get no closer than 11 points in the second half and UW-L led by as many as 23 points.
UW-L shot 50.0% from the field, including 50.0% (nine-of-18) from three-point range. Mane finished five-of-10 from three-point range while Fehrenbach was four-of-five. Mane was eight-of-17 overall from the field and hit both of his free throw attempts while Fehrenbach finished five-of-eight from the field. UW-L was 13-of-16 (81.3%) at the free throw line in the game.
Along with his 19 points, Brown finished with eight assists, five rebounds and four steals. Billy Kegler led UW-L with seven rebounds while adding seven points.
Nate Robertson led UW-River Falls with 10 points and seven rebounds. UW-River Falls shot 38.3% from the field, including 33.3% (five-of-15) from three-point range. He was 10-of-16 (62.5%) at the free throw line.
UW-L returns to action Saturday, January 26 at UW-Eau Claire at 5 p.m.
