- The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse offers many opportunities for students to earn academic credit for what you have learned through education, study, or professional development.
- Four year agreement
- UW-L offers entering freshmen an agreement ensuring graduation within four years of a student’s initial enrollment.
- Midwest Student Exchange Program (MSEP)
- This program allows students who are residents of the states of Kansas, Michigan, Missouri, Nebraska, and North Dakota an opportunity to receive a discount on non-resident tuition.
- Return to Wisconsin program
- The UW-L Alumni Association's new tuition discount program specifically designed for children and grandchildren of UW-L graduates who live in states other than Wisconsin and Minnesota.

Most graduate students live in private apartments and homes near the campus. Limited university-owned housing is available for single graduate students.
